The Feldenkrais Method®

The Feldenkrais Method®

The Feldenkrais Method is an educational movement approach that focuses on expanding kinesthetic awareness as a basis for improving motor function. Through gentle movements and directed attention, you can increase your ease and range of motion, improve your flexibility and coordination and rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement.

Group Classes: Awareness Through Movement

During our one-hour Awareness Through Movement group classes, the Feldenkrais teacher leads you through movement sequences performed in basic positions: sitting or lying on the floor, sitting in a chair and standing.

The Feldenkrais Method seeks to change the organization of your nervous system by engaging cognitive, sensory and physical faculties by taking you through a series of movements involving specific movement patterns (i.e. flexion, extension, rolling) and guiding you through options for each pattern. This exploration allows you to discover your own most functional motions. You can then take these new motions and use them in your daily life. It is an empowering methodology.

One-on-One Sessions: Functional Integration

Tilo's private, Functional Integration lessons are a hands-on form of kinesthetic communication tailored to your individual learning needs. The Feldenkreis practitioner assesses how you organize your body and, through gentle touch and adjustment, conveys an organization that facilitates an experience of greater comfort, joy and ease of movement. This demonstration assists you in learning how to reorganize your body and motion into new and more expanded patterns of movement.
